Which app is your digital assistant?

The digital assistant app can listen for a wake word and see what is on your screen when you call it.

Open Settings and search for "Digital assistant app" (or "Default apps", then "Digital assistant app").
Look at which app is chosen.

Which apps have accessibility access?

Accessibility access lets an app read everything on your screen and tap and type for you. It is meant for people who need help using their phone, but other apps sometimes ask for it.

Open Settings, then Accessibility.
Look for "Downloaded apps" or "Installed apps" (on Samsung: Accessibility > Installed apps).
Type the names of any apps switched on. Separate names with commas.

Are there device admin apps you do not recognise?

Device admin apps can lock, wipe or manage your phone, and can be hard to remove.

Open Settings and search for "Device admin apps" (sometimes under Security > More security settings).
Look at which apps are switched on. "Find My Device" from Google is normal.

Is any monitoring app installed?

Monitoring apps often use names that sound like system tools, such as "Update service" or "System service".

In Settings > Apps, open the menu (three dots) and choose "Show system apps" if you can.
Look for any of these names, or anything you do not recognise.

Which apps can use your microphone?

Open Settings and search for "Permission manager" (or Security & privacy > Privacy > Permission manager).
Tap Microphone and look under "Allowed all the time" and "Allowed only while in use".
Tick any of these, or type others below.
